The 2011 exhibits focused on:

Research and Innovation
Research underpins all that we do in support of the sector. Highlights included image analysis for improving product quality, new technologies for innovative food processing and new approaches to reducing microbial contamination on food surfaces.

Analysis and testing
Access to reliable analytical services is essential. We are highly active not just in the provision of analytical services, but in developing and validating new approaches. Highlights included new eye-tracking software for understanding consumers, evaluation of instruments, shelf-life testing, and tackling food taints and contaminants.

Knowledge Management
We help turn knowledge into practical benefits through training, consultancy and our membership activities such as panels. Examples of our training, help with product labelling, our new electronic food law guide, and how to get the most from membership package including technical panels were exhibited.

Operational support
We provide practical support to help you with your day-to-day and strategic activities. Highlights included pasteurising dry ingredients, validation of thermal processes and cooking instructions, packaging testing, HACCP and risk assessment, managing allergens, and healthy products.
