BS EN ISO 9001:2000 - Quality Management System Requirements

The 9001 standard provides a recognised framework from which to develop and improve operational and management systems. Further it provides a mechanism through which to demonstrate/assess an ability to meet customer, regulatory and organisational requirements.

The Business Management System of CCFRA is currently certified by a UKAS accredited Certification Body against the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000 for the following scope:

"Provision of research, development, testing, training, information, advisory and accreditation services for the agriculture, food, drink and allied industries."

Initial certification to BS EN ISO 9001:1994 was gained 05/08/96 with the transition to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 successfully achieved 12/07/02.

BS EN ISO IEC 17025:2005 - General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories

The 17025 standard is primarily concerned with technical competence and ability to generate technically valid results within a laboratory.

CCFRA Technology Ltd. is assessed against the requirements of BS EN ISO IEC 17025 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and is accredited to undertake specified tests and calibrations as detailed in Schedules of Accreditation bearing the accreditation numbers 'Testing Laboratory No. 1079' and 'Calibration Laboratory No. 0407'.

Commission Directive 93/71/EEC

Commission Directive 93/71/EEC of 27 July 1993 (amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC) concerns the placing of plant protection products on the market and requires that Efficacy testing and analysis must be carried out by 'Official' or 'Officially Recognised' efficacy testing organisations. Efficacy tests and analyses include field, glasshouse or laboratory trials and tests to determine the effectiveness and crop safety of plant protection products, plus its safety to other crops, plants and beneficial organisms.

CCFRA Technology Ltd. has been certified by the Pesticides Safety Directorate, PSD, (an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) since 01/01/98, as compliant with the minimum standards laid down in paragraph 2.2 (Annex II) of Commission Directive 93/71/EEC. As such CCFRA Technology Ltd. is 'Officially Recognised' as being competent to carry out efficacy trials/tests in the United Kingdom. The scope of the certification relates to specified field, storage, processing and taint test trials managed by the Agriculture Department falling within the categories of Agriculture/Horticulture and Stored Crops.
