This Technical Manual is available as a set of 2 bound volumes (part 1 and part 2a/b) which detail various aspects of good manufacturing practice guidelines.

Part 1 covers the factors which determine the safety of aseptic food-processing technology. The document includes information on the scheduled processes for food products, plant construction, aseptic filling and packaging, secondary packaging and palletisation, and plant commissioning and operation. A guideline summary is included which can serve as a check-list for those already using the technology.

In Part 2, test methods for product characterisation (e.g. pH, viscosity, specific heat), product transport (e.g. pumps, pipes, welds and packaging) are presented along with production tests. Other factors such as cleaning-in-place, product recall, packaging integrity, incubation tests and production tests are also discussed.
