Panels and working parties

Get the most from your membership by taking part in CCFRA Panels and working parties. Involving over 1000 industrialists, the 14 Technical Advisory Panels:

  • select and steer member-funded research
  • enjoy early access to research results
  • examine topical issues and technical developments with industrial colleagues
  • consider the commercial impact of developing legislation
  • network with potential business partners and industry peers
  • develop their professional skills and abilities

Collectively the 14 Panels span all areas of food science and technology with a strong emphasis on the practical activities that matter to industry. They play a vital role in ensuring that we meet the scientific and technical needs of industry. For example, Panel discussions help us to shape our services, publications and training courses.

If you are attending a Panel for the first time, directions to CCFRA, guidance on travel and information on local accommodation are available.

Each Panel meets three times per year - in Winter, Spring and Autumn. The formal terms of reference describe the Panels' role in more detail. Some Panels are supported in their work by Working Parties which look at specific topics and issues in greater detail.

All full members of the RA are entitled to sit on any of the 14 Panels. Companies can, if they wish, nominate more than one individual for the same Panel. To join a Panel or find out more about Panel activities please e-mail:
