Examples of foreign bodies that can be analysed include: glass fragments; metal, stone and plastics; insects; extraneous vegetable matter; and hair and fibres.

Specific seafood-related foreign bodies that we have dealt with include bones, cardboard from frozen fish blocks, pieces of sea cucumber and other marine invertebrates, and general detritus from the seabed accidentally harvested with bottom feeders.
