Microorganism identification

Microorganism identification

When confronted with a microbiological contamination problem - either in a food or in the factory - it is usually very useful to determine the source of the problem. Many organisms occupy a diverse range of habitats, and so the only way of knowing where a particular contaminant originated is to identify it to a specific strain and then match that with a strain elsewhere in the environment or in a particular food ingredient.

Campden BRI is a world leader in this type of work, utilising state-of-the-art biochemical and molecular methods - including the Riboprinter system, a form of molecular fingerprinting.
