Practical food law - the essentials
This two day course provides a wide-ranging introduction to British and European law controlling food and drink manufacture and marketing. In a series of interactive workshops and practicals delegates will learn about how the legislation is developed, applied and enforced.
Practical food law - weights and measures
Although quantity control applies to the production and marketing of most food and drink, the detailed and complex legislation can often appear baffling to the non-specialist. As a result controls are often operated by rote, with little real understanding of the principles involved.
This one-day course will help to demystify average weight legislation, and give delegates the confidence to review the efficiency and effectiveness of their current systems.
Practical Food law - labelling
Over recent years, food labelling legislation has developed dramatically. Requirements for fuller ingredient listing, the declaration of allergens, QUID and GM labelling mean that the labeller must now understand an extensive range of controls in order to produce a legal label. Previous delegates found that the course gave them 'an in-depth understanding of labelling requirements' and a 'good update on new food labelling requirements'.
Practical Food law - briefing on marketing terms
Creative thinking is an essential component of effective marketing. Sometimes, however, ideas emerge and are developed before it is realised that a particular approach sits uneasily with either the law or recommended good practice.
This one-day briefing will point out the potential pitfalls and enable companies to concentrate their efforts on concepts that can more confidently and quickly be brought to market.
