Facing the inspectors
This is a tailored one day course, available on and off-site. Please contact our training team for further information.
Benefits of attending
This unique tailored course will prepare companies for inspections made under the Food Safety Act and regulations made under it. It is the responsibility of local food authorities to enforce these laws. Knowing what enforcers can do when inspecting premises; what they may reasonably expect and what they are will allow a food business to be better prepared when the enforcement officer arrives.
Briefing content
- Offences under the Food Safety Act
- Responsibilities for enforcing the act
- The role and powers of inspectors
- Inspection procedures and documents
- Sampling and analysis
- Legal proceedings, including cautions and prosecutions
- Penalty notices and other newer sanctions
"Delegates attending this course will develop and update their understanding of the role of enforcement officers, their powers, procedures and the types of sanctions that they can impose on food businesses. It will be of considerable benefit to those who are responsible for receiving and responding to inspection visits and/or their managers."
