Aseptic processing
Why attend
A combination of lectures, tutorials and demonstrations will provide a technical understanding to staff directly involved in processing, development and engineering. The workshop will also provide an overview of aseptic technology to retailers and auditors.
Workshop content
- Aseptic systems: background and GMP
- Thermal processing (microbial destruction)
- Processing technologies
- Thermal process validation and holding tubes
- Novel processing methods
- Hygienic design for aseptic filling
- CIP (clean-in-place) and SIP (sterilisation in place)
- Decontamination of packaging and air hygiene
- Tutorial on sterilisation (F) and pasteurisation (P) value calculation
- Aseptic filling and packaging formats
- Quality control for aseptic products
- Validation of the aseptic system
- HACCP workshop
- Problem solving workshop
"With an increased interest in minimal processing of products, aseptic processing is currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity. Combining high temperature short time processing with sterile packaging in a sterile filling environment gives improved flavour, texture and nutritional properties to a product. This workshop will outline the engineering, microbiological and technical principles in producing aseptic products."
