Benefits of attending

This seminar will focus on innovations in packaging for the supply chain to reduce food waste. Innovations in food packaging and how raw materials can withstand the rigours of transportation will be discussed with a particular focus on sustainable materials. The use of alternative materials and light weighting can have an impact on the strength of the package increasing the number of failed packs.

The integrity of the package throughout the supply chain is paramount to ensure the safety and quality of the product during shelf life and to reduce food wastage. Test methods to determine the strength and integrity of the package during the supply chain including transportation will also be covered.

The seminar will provide an overview of active and intelligent materials and devices that can be incorporated into a package. Active packaging can maintain or extend the quality and shelf life of a product. Intelligent packaging such as RFID and indicators can be used to provide information on both the package and environment the product is exposed to throughout the supply chain.

This seminar is aimed at packaging manufacturers and suppliers, food and drink manufacturers, quality assurance personnel, technical managers and retailers.
