Why attend:
This course is aimed at food manufacturers, suppliers, copackers and agents promoting and improving the implementation of corporate codes of practice which cover supply chain working conditions. In the late 1990s, companies selling food and clothing to UK consumers were coming under increasing pressure from trade unions, non-governmental organisations and consumers to ensure decent working conditions for the people who produce the goods they sell. In order to ensure compliance with these standards and relevant legislation, industry needs competent auditors with a good understanding of employment issues and the complexities of social systems auditing.
This course should be attended by external or internal auditors that would audit companies‘ social systems, or anyone interested in social responsibility.
Course content:
- ETI Base Code
- SEDEX
- Independent trade unions
- Freedom of association
- Corporate social responsibility
- Purchasing practices
- Collective bargaining
