"Internal audits are an important requirement of laboratory quality standards (e.g. ISO 17025, CLAS, ISO 9000). They not only compare practice with requirements the ‘voice of the system‘, but also provide a means to verify and improve the quality of the work, which in turn gives confidence in the reliability of results. Auditing laboratories can present challenges. Audits often fail to correctly appraise the suitability and standard of technical operations. This course will review the requirements for internal audits, explain the technical requirements of CLAS/ISO 17025 and provide detailed guidance on how to approach and successfully audit essential laboratory operations to a standard that gives confidence in the technical activities, the competence of the laboratory and reassurance of results."
