The production of raw materials is an integral part of the food and feed supply chain. Approaches based on risk evaluation and management are the logical and cost effective means of providing food and feed safety and quality assurance in the production and sourcing of raw materials.
This course provides an understanding to risk, food and feed safety, and risk assessment. The focus is on the production and sourcing of food and feed raw materials including control options based on good hygiene and good agricultural practices. Special reference will be made to approaches to assessing food and feed safety controls based on the significance of risk factors.
The course will benefit:
- those responsible for implementation of risk management strategies and those assuring compliance with adopted practices, and
- those wishing to obtain a better understanding of risk assessment in the production and sourcing of primary agricultural products.
